The role
We are looking for a Medior/Senior API Automation Tester to join our long-term partnership with ICA Banken.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Sarajevo, with a planned start date in November 2026.
The engagement is not limited to a predefined end date.
You will work primarily with API test automation, contributing to the quality of business-critical banking systems, backend services, and integrations.
Project
You will join a team responsible for developing and maintaining APIs and backend integrations used across ICA Banken.
The primary focus is developing and maintaining automated API tests using Playwright and TypeScript. The automation framework is already established, allowing you to focus on expanding regression coverage, testing new functionality, and improving the reliability of backend services and integrations.
The role also includes manual API testing, basic database validation, exploratory testing, defect investigation, and the use of AI-assisted tools throughout the testing process.
The work includes:
- Developing and maintaining automated API tests using Playwright and TypeScript
- Testing REST APIs, backend services, miniservices, and system integrations
- Performing manual API testing using Bruno, Postman, or similar tools
- Maintaining and executing automated regression tests
- Performing basic database validation and working with test data
- Investigating defects using logs, API responses, and database information
- Running automated tests through CI/CD processes
- Using GitHub Copilot and other AI tools as part of daily test automation work
- Collaborating with developers, testers, and other team members in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software testing experience
- Strong hands-on experience with API testing and API test automation
- Practical professional experience with Playwright and TypeScript
- Experience testing REST APIs, backend services, and system integrations
- Experience with Bruno, Postman, or a comparable API testing tool
- Basic practical SQL knowledge for finding and validating test data
- Experience maintaining automated regression tests
- Experience with CI/CD environments
- Practical experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI tools in daily testing work
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Good English communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with XML-based APIs
- Experience with Splunk or similar logging tools
- Experience with C#, RestSharp, or comparable API automation technologies
- Experience with performance testing
- Experience with Jira and Azure DevOps
- Previous experience in banking, financial services, or insurance
- ISTQB Foundation or another relevant testing certification
