The role
We are looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to join our long-term partnership with ICA, one of Scandinavia's largest retail companies.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Sarajevo, with a planned start date in August/September 2026.
We are currently hiring for three senior positions:
- 1x Backend-focused Developer (Java)
- 1x PL/SQL-focused Developer
- 1x UI-focused Developer (Vue.js)
The ideal candidate has experience across Java, PL/SQL, and Vue.js, but this is not a mandatory requirement. We welcome senior candidates with strong expertise in one of these areas who are interested in working within a cross-functional team.
Project
You will join one of several business-critical development teams responsible for applications that support ICA's core retail operations, including pricing, supply chain, assortment management, and product information.
The systems are primarily built using Java, PL/SQL, and Vue.js and are developed in a collaborative DevOps environment together with Swedish colleagues.
Depending on the team, you may work on applications such as:
- CPC (Cost Price Calculation) – calculates wholesale prices for products sold in ICA stores.
- ICASOI – generates Store Orderable Item data supporting ICA's supply chain.
- AssortmentStage – manages and publishes business-critical information related to articles, agreements, and consumer products.
The work includes:
- Ongoing feature development and continuous improvements
- Maintenance and optimization of existing solutions
- Working with complex business logic in business-critical systems
- End-to-end responsibility in a DevOps setup
- Active participation in development, testing, deployment, and production support
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience in at least one of the following:
- Java backend development
- PL/SQL development
- Vue.js frontend development
- Experience working on business-critical applications
- Experience maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing existing systems
- Experience working in a DevOps environment with end-to-end ownership
- Proficiency with tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, VS Code, SQL Developer, and Postman
- Good English communication skills
Additional notes:
- We are looking for three different senior profiles: Java, PL/SQL, and Vue.js.
- Experience with all three technologies is considered a strong advantage, but it is not mandatory.
- Candidates with deep expertise in one of the core technologies are encouraged to apply.
