Technical tester (Web / API / Backend / Mobile)

The role

We are looking for technical testers with minimum 5+ years of experience to join our team in Sarajevo. This is a full-time, on-site role within our long-term partnership with one of Scandinavia's biggest brands, ICA. We are currently looking to fill 5 positions for these roles.

Project

We are seeking experienced senior technical testers to join several agile, cross-functional teams across different Value Streams and a centralized Test Line organization, including the following domains:

• Payments
• Loans
• Insurance
• Central Test Line (supporting multiple teams)
• Digital / Mobile Applications

Test activities cover development and delivery across multiple platforms, including Web, APIs, Backends, CRM, and Mobile applications (depending on the team). The role includes both manual and automated testing, as well as maintenance of regression test suites.

Purpose/responsibilities

• System testing of individual applications
• System integration testing of interconnected applications
• End-to-end testing of complete solutions and business flows
• Manual and automated testing of Web applications, APIs, and Mobile applications (where applicable)
• Verification in back-end systems and databases
• Continuous maintenance and execution of regression test suites in every sprint
• Clear defect handling, including prioritization based on severity and business impact
• Proactive approach to identify defects as early as possible and minimize issues in production
• Full ownership of all test activities within the team
  
  

Team setup

• Agile / Scrum, cross-functional teams
• Close collaboration with developers, business stakeholders, and QA colleagues
• In some cases, work within a centralized Test Line team supporting multiple business and IT teams

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience
• For Insurance-focused teams, 8+ years of experience is preferred
• Strong communication skills in the English language

Required competencies

• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Strong background in software testing, including:

1. test planning
2. test preparation
3. test execution
4. reporting

• Strong skills in both manual and automated testing
• Immediate test automation capability for Web and APIs
• Experience with exploratory testing
• Regression test suite maintenance and improvement
• Defect management throughout the full bug lifecycle
• Testing of Web applications, APIs, and back-end systems
• For Mobile teams: experience in manual and automated mobile application testing
• Proactive, self-driven mindset with full ownership of testing responsibilities

Nice to have competencies

• Banking and/or insurance domain knowledge
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Database verification using SQL queries

Tools and technologies

• Playwright (TypeScript)
• RestSharp
• Visual Studio
• Jira, Azure DevOps
• CI/CD integration
• Performance testing tools (e.g. LoadRunner)
• BrowserStack or similar cloud-based testing tools

• Mobile application testing (for non-mobile teams – considered a plus)
• ISTQB certification
• Use of AI tools in testing
